Robert C. Quinlan
Principal and Founder
Currently Chairman of Quinlan Development Group, Robert C. Quinlan has been a real estate investor and developer in the tri-state area since 1971 when he pioneered the re-development of Columbus Avenue. Since that time he has developed or renovated over 22 buildings and maintains ownership in 33 properties, including over 85 retail stores. He works in close partnership with his son, Timothy Quinlan, a principal in Quinlan Development Group.
Mr. Quinlan is also owner of Walker, Malloy & Company, Inc., a management and leasing company that specializes in residential management and retail leasing.
From 1964 to 1971, Mr. Quinlan was Partner and Vice President of James D. Landauer Associates, national real estate consultants. While there, he was consultant to over fifty corporate and institutional clients, including the Rockefeller, Goelet, and Phipps Families.
In between projects, Mr. Quinlan dedicates himself to the preservation of historic buildings and open space. He is a past Chairman of the Historic House Trust of New York City; former Trustee of the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies; Director of Friends of the Upper East Side Historic District, Inc.; Advisory Council and former Board Member of the New York City Landmarks Conservancy; Trustees Council and former Board Member of the Preservation League of New York State; and Chair of Friends of Coleman Station Historic District, which he founded. He and his wife have established a nature preserve in western Puerto Rico that is available to plant scientists, agronomists, foresters and other professional groups. With his wife, Encarnita Valdes Quinlan, he has sponsored a Dia Foundation installation art project in western Puerto Rico.
Mr. Quinlan is married and has three children. He is a graduate of Yale University, attended Harvard Law School, and holds a Masters degree from Columbia University.
Timothy C. Quinlan
Principal
In 2007, Tim took over all day-to-day operations of Quinlan Development Group and is directly responsible for all aspects of the company. During his tenure he has invested in, developed, or is developing over one million square feet of new projects.
Tim also oversees the family’s legacy portfolio and the leasing and management affiliate Walker, Malloy & Company, Inc.
Prior to joining Quinlan Development Group, Tim worked at SLCE Architects, Cushman & Wakefield, Tommy Hilfiger, and at a start-up technology company. He graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies, and received a Master of Science in Real Estate from New York University.
Tim serves on the boards of Open House New York, Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, and Columbus Avenue Business Improvement District. He was involved in the foundation of the Junior Committee for the High Line, and assisted the Park Avenue Armory in starting its Avant-Garde program. He is a Member of the New York Farmers, the Urban Design Forum, New York Landmarks Conservancy, and Chairman of Friends of Coleman Station Historic District. Tim also actively supports several other non-profits.
Tyler A. Wilkins
Partner
Tyler Wilkins focuses on deal sourcing, project management, company strategy, and capital structuring and sourcing within the firm. Since joining Quinlan Development Group, Tyler has closed on $750 million in equity and debt transactions throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn across most property types.
Prior to joining Quinlan Development Group, Tyler was a Vice President at DTZ Rockwood, a real estate investment bank headquartered in New York City. During his tenure, Tyler underwrote and structured transactions valued at over $5 billion, specializing in buy-side advisory, workouts, and debt and equity restructuring and placement on behalf of institutional clients.
Prior to joining DTZ Rockwood, Tyler founded Wilkins Development, a real estate development firm which built, operated, and owned office, residential, and self-storage properties in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Additionally, he worked in the acquisition groups at the JBG Companies and ASB Capital Management, where he underwrote and performed due diligence for large office portfolios in the D.C. metro area and condo developments in New York City.
Tyler holds a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University and a Master in Business Administration in Finance and Real Estate from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Josh Biel
Senior Associate
Josh Biel joined Quinlan Development Group in 2021, and focuses on deal sourcing, financial modeling and asset management. Josh is also involved in QDG’s capital raising efforts, as well as investor relations.
Prior to joining QDG, Josh worked for Arch Companies, a vertically integrated owner, operator, and developer, where he focused primarily on acquisitions and asset management. Josh also previously worked for JMH Development, a Brooklyn-based real estate development firm, focusing on boutique luxury development projects in New York City and Miami.
Josh graduated from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Management, majoring in Finance and minoring in Legal Studies.
Kyle Cohen
Vice President of Project Management
Kyle Cohen joined the Quinlan Development Group team as a Construction Project Manager focusing on the company’s various development projects. He is heavily involved with site preparation, quality control and project close-out, as well as on-site construction management, administrative management and construction budgeting.
Prior to joining QDG, Kyle worked for Iron Bridge Consulting, a construction consulting firm, where he focused on residential, commercial, and retail development projects. His main client was Westfield where he was a tenant coordinator for the grand opening of 110 retail stores at the World Trade Center. Kyle also worked at Fisher Brothers in acquisitions and development for two high luxury residential projects in Manhattan.
In 2015, Kyle graduated from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University with a dual major in Finance and Entrepreneurship.
