Pro Bono Activities
- Former Co-Chair and current Advisory Council Member of the Preservation League of New York State, Albany, NY, a not-for-profit group dedicated to preserving the state’s historic buildings and landscapes.
- Former Chair and current Advisory Council Member of the Historic House Trust of New York City, a public-private partnership that preserves historic structures by placing them in the New York City Parks system.
- Founder of the Oconuco Nature Preserve in Puerto Rico. Oconuco serves as a Caribbean research study site for the Biodiversity Department of the New York Botanical Gardens, where Mr. & Mrs. Quinlan serve on the Science Committee.
- Sponsor of a Dia Foundation installation art project, Art In A Cave, in Western Puerto Rico, managed by the Fidelcomiso de Conservacion de Puerto Rico.
- Former Board Member and current Advisory Committee Member of the New York City Landmarks Conservancy.
- Former Board Member and current Advisory Committee Member of Friends of the Upper East Side Historic Districts.
- Founder and Chairman of the Coleman Station Historic District in Dutchess County, New York.
- Former Trustee and current Member of the President’s Advisory Council of the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies, Millbrook, NY.
- Member of the New York State Advisory Council of the American Farmland Trust.
- Former Board Member of the Whitney Museum of American Art.
In 2010, Mr. Quinlan received the August Heckscher Award for Community Services from Civitas, a union of citizens dedicated to improving neighborhood quality of life in East Harlem and the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
